Tanda Medical College is rapidly establishing itself as a leading institution in healthcare services across Himachal Pradesh. The medical college’s dedicated staff is providing round-the-clock services to ensure quality care for patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Milap Sharma, Principal of Tanda Medical College, credited the progress to the proactive initiatives taken by the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. \u201cSignificant strides have been made to equip the college with modern medical facilities,\u201d Dr. Sharma said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Responding to what he described as \u201cmisleading and baseless allegations\u201d regarding the hospital\u2019s facilities, Dr. Sharma highlighted the institution\u2019s impressive performance. \u201cEvery year, Tanda handles nearly six lakh OPD visits and treats 60,000 to 70,000 indoor patients. Currently, 12 operation theatres are functional, with six more set to open soon,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tanda Medical College holds the distinction of being the first in the state to initiate renal transplant surgeries. In a notable achievement, 11 kidney transplants have been successfully performed in the past six months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Sharma also noted that the newly inaugurated Trauma Centre, launched by Chief Minister Sukhu, has become operational. \u201cThe government has filled 100 posts at the centre, including 8 doctors, ensuring it is fully staffed and ready to serve,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Refuting claims that the hospital\u2019s services have been hampered due to a faulty X-ray machine, Dr. Sharma clarified that all essential operations continue unhindered. \u201cWe have six portable X-ray machines and two high-capacity 800 MA (65 KV) machines. Though some technical issues arose, repairs are underway, and patient services remain unaffected,\u201d he said. He emphasized that equipment malfunctions are a common challenge in all institutions. Additionally, the hospital has received approval for a new CT machine with a budget of \u20b91 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a further boost to healthcare infrastructure, Dr. Sharma announced the government\u2019s approval to set up a Critical Care Unit and a Centre of Excellence for Mental Health Care. He added that an MD course in Psychology has been introduced, with the required faculty already in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To strengthen manpower, the government has sanctioned the recruitment of 500 new positions, including doctors and supporting staff. Dr. Sharma also acknowledged the continued support of Cabinet Minister R.S. Bali in enhancing healthcare facilities at the college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A major infrastructure upgrade is also underway at the GS Wali Mother and Child Care Hospital, with \u20b93.5 crore sanctioned for a new access ramp, construction of which is soon to begin<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
