In a significant push to preserve Haryana\u2019s cultural heritage while boosting tourism, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini<\/strong> has unveiled an ambitious plan to develop Pehowa\u2019s Brahma Sarovar<\/strong> into a grand and visually striking tourist destination. The historic water body, which holds deep cultural and spiritual significance, is to be restored and beautified as part of the state government\u2019s ongoing heritage conservation efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Speaking at a public programme on Sunday at Brahma Sarovar in village Thana, Kurukshetra<\/strong>, the Chief Minister said, \u201cBrahma Sarovar is a symbol of our culture, and its preservation is the responsibility of the government.\u201d<\/em> He highlighted that the site, along with approximately 102 acres of surrounding sacred land<\/strong>, attracts migratory birds from across India and abroad \u2014 a natural phenomenon that further enhances its historical and ecological value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The government\u2019s mission, CM Saini stressed, is to restore and safeguard pilgrimage sites so that future generations can witness their cultural grandeur. Before addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister inspected the Brahma Sarovar complex and participated in a plantation drive at a local government school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As part of the event, he announced a grant of \u20b921 lakh<\/strong> for village development and assured that demands submitted by the local Sarpanch would be addressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n CM Saini underscored the state\u2019s rapid development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/strong>, noting that Haryana is now seamlessly connected through national highways<\/strong> that allow travel from one corner of the state to another within just 3\u20134 hours. Every district, he said, is now linked to the national highway network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In a landmark legal reform, the state has introduced a law allowing residents who have been living on panchayat land for over 20 years<\/strong> to legally acquire up to 500 square yards<\/strong> at 2004 collector rates<\/strong>. This step has not only regularised such properties but also resolved long-pending court disputes in villages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Highlighting Haryana\u2019s pioneering role in agricultural reforms, CM Saini said the state is the first in India to purchase all crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP)<\/strong>. Additionally, vegetable crops are being procured under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana<\/strong>, ensuring farmers receive fair compensation for their produce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The government has also abolished colonial-era \u201cAbiyana\u201d levies on farmers and waived \u20b9133 crore<\/strong> in related dues \u2014 a relief measure welcomed by the farming community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Member of Parliament Naveen Jindal<\/strong> praised CM Saini\u2019s leadership, stating that development in Haryana is being driven by the principle of \u201cSabka Saath, Sabka Vikas\u201d<\/em> (Collective Effort, Inclusive Development) and the vision of \u201cHaryana Ek, Haryanvi Ek\u201d<\/em> (One Haryana, One People).
