International Kullu Dussehra Festival 2023 to showcase rich culture and heritage of Himachal Pradesh

To promote the International Kullu Dussehra Festival 2023, a curtain raiser event was jointly organized by Himachal Pradesh Government and Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in New Delhi today.

The International Kullu Dussehra Festival is one of the most popular and vibrant festivals in India, and it is a major tourist attraction. The festival is celebrated from October 24 to 30 this year, and it will feature a variety of cultural events, including traditional dances, music, and performances.

The curtain raiser event featured a teaser and booklet launch, as well as an interaction with media persons. Chief Parliamentary Secretary Tourism, Sunder Singh Thakur, who is also the Chairman of the International Kullu Dussehra Festival Organizing Committee, informed that the festival will commence with the famous Lord Raghunath ji’s Rath Yatra and more than 300 local deities will participate in the mega event. He further added that major highlights of the festival will be organising of the International Carnival on 25th October and Kullu Carnival fest on 30th October.

The International Cultural Festival is a major attraction of the International Kullu Dussehra Festival, and it will feature cultural troupes from over 20 countries, including Russia, Israel, Romania, Kazakhistan, Croatia, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, Panama, Iran, Maldives, Malaysia, Kenya, South Sudan, Zambia, Ghana, and Ethiopia.

The Himachal Pradesh Government is making efforts to make the festival a global event, and it is also working to improve the tourism infrastructure in the region. The travel time from Chandigarh to Kullu has been reduced from six hours to four hours, and 13 out of fifteen tunnels are now open to commuters. Flights from Amritsar, Chandigarh, and Delhi to Kullu are also operating to facilitate tourists.

The International Kullu Dussehra Festival 2023 is a great opportunity to experience the rich culture and heritage of Himachal Pradesh. Tourists can enjoy the traditional dances, music, and performances, as well as the vibrant atmosphere of the festival.
