Kangra Police Apprehends Individual for Narcotic Possession

In a recent operation, the Kangra Police, led by SP Shalini Agnihotri, apprehended a 30-year-old man from Ward No. 7 of Mandir Bazar, Kangra (HP), for illegal possession of narcotics. The arrest took place last night at Bheem Tilla Park near Chetru, where the individual was caught engaging in suspicious behavior.
The Gaggal Police, while on patrol, noticed this man attempting to discreetly conceal ‘chitta’ (a local term for heroin) behind the bushes within the park premises. Upon intervention, the police seized 5.82 grams of the substance from his possession.
Following the arrest, the individual was presented before a magistrate in the Kangra court, which subsequently remanded him to three days in police custody. The case has been registered under Section 21-61-85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, marking a significant step in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking .
