The announcement, made during the inauguration of the state-level Shivratri Mahotsav, highlights the government’s commitment to propelling Kangra’s tourism industry. The expansion of Kangra Airport will involve a significant investment, with a focus on providing a substantial relief package for those displaced by the project. This dual approach ensures that growth and development go hand-in-hand with social responsibility.

Beyond tourism, Chief Minister Sukhu outlined a series of initiatives designed to bolster the regional economy and empower various sections of society. Recognizing the critical role of agriculture, the government will set support prices for wheat, corn, and cow dung products. Women’s empowerment takes center stage with the launch of the “Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana.” This innovative scheme empowers women across the state by providing a monthly honorarium of Rs 1500 to women and daughters over 18 years of age. This translates to an annual benefit of Rs 18,000, fostering financial independence and creating a more equitable society.
Investing in Youth: Combating Drug Abuse and Nurturing Talent
