Punjab: A Role Model for Employment and Law Enforcement Reforms

Punjab has recently taken a giant leap in providing jobs to its youth, transforming itself into a model for the nation. On a historic day marking the recruitment of 1,746 constables into the Punjab Police, Arvind Kejriwal, the National Convenor of AAP, applauded the state’s progress in providing over 48,000 government jobs in a transparent, fair, and merit-based manner. This bold move ensures that every village in Punjab now has at least one government employee, marking a significant milestone in the state’s development.

Kejriwal emphasized the importance of this initiative for the state’s socio-economic growth. He shared that by offering more jobs to youth, the AAP government is actively helping keep them away from drugs while contributing to the progress of the state. Kejriwal expressed his pride in the police recruits, encouraging them to be part of the well-respected and disciplined Punjab Police force. He assured the youth that their role in the force will be crucial in shaping the state’s future.

Kejriwal also made an important announcement regarding the state’s security and law and order situation, explaining how Punjab now has one of the best law enforcement systems in the country. This transformation, he added, was the result of the AAP government’s efforts to restore stability after a period of instability caused by gangsters and anti-social elements. He also revealed that the state had successfully attracted investments worth over Rs 60,000 crore, promising to create more than three lakh jobs, signaling a positive economic shift.

On the occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann expressed his gratitude to the new recruits and urged them to work with dedication, honoring the sacrifice of martyrs like Kartar Singh Sarabha. He spoke about the importance of keeping the promises made to the people during the 2022 elections and shared his vision for the future of the state.

Mann’s government continues to focus on creating job opportunities and has promised to fill 10,000 more positions in the Punjab Police. This initiative is part of the state’s larger plan to improve public safety and law enforcement using state-of-the-art technology. The launch of the “Sadak Surkhya Force” to improve road safety has already led to a 45% reduction in road accident fatalities.

Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, Chief Secretary KAP Sinha, and other dignitaries were present at the event, where 1,205 new constables were handed their appointment letters.

In a political statement, Mann praised Arvind Kejriwal for his leadership in pushing forward key sectors such as health, education, power, water, and infrastructure at the national level. He echoed the commitment to furthering the development of Punjab under AAP’s guidance.
