Ludhiana, India: An atmosphere of fear grips Ludhiana after a 20-year-old woman was kidnapped and gang-raped in a moving auto rickshaw on December 19th. However, in a swift response, police have arrested three suspects involved in the horrific crime.

Initial Hesitation Overcome: Initially, the victim’s parents were hesitant to file a complaint due to fear of social stigma. After extensive explanation and support from DCP Jasbirjeet Singh Teja, they lodged a complaint at the Dehlon police station.

Swift & Comprehensive Investigation: Since December 19th, multiple police teams conducted intensive searches and inquiries. They identified three suspects attempting to flee upon being identified. A thrilling chase ensued, with the suspects trying to escape on a bike at high speed. They eventually lost control and collided with a tree, sustaining serious injuries.

Suspects Apprehended, Investigation Ongoing: Despite their injuries, the police managed to apprehend the suspects: auto driver Jarnail Singh (17), and his accomplices Anil (25) and Gurpreet (21). Both accomplices were reportedly under the influence of substances.

Recovering the Past & Ensuring Justice: Preliminary investigations reveal that the victim boarded the auto driven by Jarnail Singh on the morning of December 19th. Inside, another accomplice was already present. Later, they picked up Gurpreet and drove to a secluded spot near a canal. There, the three men taped the victim’s mouth, sexually assaulted her, stole her mobile phone, and abandoned her at the scene. She managed to reach the main road and call for help, leading to the police’s arrival.

Police Recover Evidence, Further Action Awaits: DCP Teja confirmed the recovery of the victim’s mobile phone and other crucial evidence. The three suspects, already known for their involvement in bike thefts in the Jagraon area, will be presented in court after receiving medical treatment. Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
