Mandi District Gets a Boost with Rs 71.39 Crore Development Projects by CM Thakur Sukhvinder Singh

Dharampur, Mandi: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh marked a significant day for Mandi district today, dedicating 13 development projects worth Rs 71.39 crore to the people of Dharampur. The projects, ranging from bridges and government buildings to irrigation facilities and handicraft centers, promise to improve infrastructure, connectivity, and economic opportunities in the region.

Bridging the Gap: CM Singh inaugurated four new bridges, enhancing connectivity across the region. These include bridges on Awahdevi-Tehra road, Anaswaai-Chaswal road, Hukkal-Chattar road, and Sherpur-Sari via Khaber road, constructed at a total cost of Rs 10.77 crore.

Sajau-Chatrayana Link: A new bridge built on Sajau-Chatrayana road for Rs 1.98 crore further strengthens the transportation network in the area.

Upgraded Infrastructure:

  • Public Works Department Enhancements: The Public Works Department received a boost with the inauguration of Rs 74.65 lakh Type-2 staff quarters and a Rs 30.90 lakh government residence for the Assistant Engineer in Mandap.
  • Public Facilitation Center: A Public Facilitation Center built at a cost of Rs 88 lakh in Dharampur will serve a dual purpose. It will house the manufacturing of bamboo-based items and provide training to artisans, promoting local handicrafts and skill development.

Investing in Agriculture:

  • HP Shiva Project: Recognizing the importance of agriculture, CM Singh laid the foundation stone for a Rs 50.55 crore irrigation project under the HP Shiva Project. This project will provide irrigation facilities to 775 hectares of agricultural land across Chauntara, Gopalpur, and Dharampur blocks, boosting agricultural productivity in the region.

    These 13 projects, inaugurated and launched by CM Thakur Sukhvinder Singh, mark a significant investment in the development of Mandi district. Improved infrastructure, enhanced connectivity, and a focus on agriculture and local handicrafts promise to create a positive impact on the lives of the people in Dharampur and surrounding areas.
