Nayab Singh Saini’s Second Term as Haryana CM: Swearing-in Ceremony on October 17 in Panchkula
Saptrishi Soni:
Panchkula, October 12 — The swearing-in ceremony of the newly re-elected Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Haryana will take place on October 17, 2024, at the Dusshera ground in Panchkula’s Sector 5, according to an official statement from the party. This marks a historic achievement for the BJP, as Haryana voters have re-elected the same party for the third consecutive time — an unprecedented feat in the state’s political history.
Nayab Singh Saini will be sworn in as the Chief Minister for his second term, following a successful five-year run as CM. His first tenure began in March 2024 after former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar resigned to contest the Lok Sabha elections. The ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m., and it will be graced by high-profile attendees, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior BJP leaders, alongside several chief ministers from BJP-ruled states.
Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar confirmed the ceremony’s details, saying, “We have received confirmation from the Prime Minister, and the oath-taking ceremony of the Chief Minister and his council of ministers will take place on October 17 in Panchkula.”
Saini’s council of ministers will also be sworn in alongside him, with a maximum limit of 14 ministers allowed, including the Chief Minister. The new government is expected to continue the BJP’s vision for growth and development in Haryana, with key policies aimed at improving infrastructure, employment, and social welfare programs.
The BJP secured 48 out of the 90 seats in the recently concluded Assembly elections, ensuring a decisive mandate for a third consecutive term in office. This landslide victory further cements the party’s dominance in the state and signals widespread public support for its governance.
The swearing-in ceremony is anticipated to be a grand event, showcasing the BJP’s growing influence in Haryana and the country as a whole. As the state moves into this new term, the focus will likely be on consolidating achievements from previous years and continuing the momentum of progress.
