NRIs Show Enthusiasm for Significant Investments in Punjab
In a heartening development, non-resident Indians (NRIs) have shown keen interest in making substantial investments in Punjab, buoyed by the reverse migration trend and confidence in the state government.

The Punjab government recently hosted an NRI meeting at Chamrod Pattan, where NRIs lauded the ongoing efforts to attract investments to the state.
Dalwinder Singh, a long-term resident of France originally from Tanda, expressed his ambition to establish a university in his hometown. He commended the transformative initiatives led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, expressing optimism about the reversal of the migration trend in Punjab. Dalwinder extended gratitude to CM Mann for his efforts benefiting NRIs and fostering trust in the government. He affirmed NRIs’ active role in village development and pledged full support to the state government.
Sewa Singh, currently residing in New York, USA, and originally from Mukerian, praised the Punjab government’s dedicated focus on NRIs. He highlighted the frequent visits of his children to Punjab and applauded the government’s initiatives under CM Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership.
Satwinder Singh Sagu, a London resident with roots in Jalandhar, attended the event to express appreciation to CM Mann. Sagu announced his personal interest in investing Rs 50 crore in Punjab, citing the conducive environment created by the government for NRIs.
Harish Das, now based in London and originally from Phagwara, endorsed Punjab as an excellent investment destination, urging NRIs worldwide to consider investing in the state. He emphasized the government’s strong support for NRIs as a driving factor behind their interest in Punjab.
Joginder Sandhu, a French resident originally from Hoshiarpur, commended the Punjab government’s unique initiative with the NRI meeting. He expressed confidence in CM Mann’s administration, assuring NRIs that their concerns would be promptly addressed.
Dr. Harminder Singh, currently residing in California and hailing from Nihalpur village in Hoshiarpur, attended the NRI meet for the first time. He emphasized NRIs’ connection to their roots and pledged support for Punjab’s prosperity through substantial investments.
Gurwinder Singh, settled in Canada but originally from Ajnala, expressed gratitude to the government during the NRI meeting. While appreciating the government’s support, he also expressed confidence in swift resolution of his grievances.
Dr. Rajesh Kalia, residing in Canada and originally from Amritsar Sahib, highlighted the growing faith in the Punjab government since CM Bhagwant Singh Mann assumed power, both within Punjab and among Punjabis abroad.
Kulwinder Singh, residing in France for 16 years, praised CM Bhagwant Singh Mann’s proactive approach, attributing the reverse migration trend to the government’s concrete efforts. He expressed a desire to return to Punjab, crediting CM Mann for the positive shift and pro-people policies initiated by the Punjab government.
