Police Dismantle LeT Terror Module and Arrest Two in Punjab Operation
On Saturday, Punjab police announced the successful dismantling of a Lashkar-e-Tayiba (LeT) terrorist module following the apprehension of two individuals from Jammu and Kashmir. The operation, a collaborative effort between the State Special Operation Cell-Amritsar police and a central agency, yielded a significant seizure of illicit materials.
Law enforcement authorities disclosed that the confiscated items included two improvised explosive devices, two hand grenades, a pistol, two magazines, 24 cartridges, a timer switch, eight detonators, and four batteries.
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav commended the operation as a major breakthrough, emphasizing that it was a joint operation with a central agency. The two detainees, both hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, were arrested in connection with their involvement in the LeT module. The leader of the module was identified as Firdaus Ahmed Bhat, a known active member of Lashkar-e-Tayiba.
Yadav further characterized these arrests as a significant setback to the terror module’s efforts to disrupt the peace and security in Punjab.
