Punjab Chief Minister Leads Historic Fight Against Drug Menace with Youth-Led Movement

Chief Minister Launches Anti-Drug Campaign with Prayers, Oaths, and Games

Amritsar: In a monumental stride to combat drug abuse in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann rallied 35,000 young warriors who converged at Shri Harimandir Sahib to pledge the eradication of narcotics from the state. This unprecedented mass movement, marked by fervent prayers, solemn oaths, and spirited games, is poised to shatter the grip of drugs on Punjab.

Under the resolute guidance of Chief Minister Mann, the youth of Punjab, bedecked in yellow turbans, patkas, and chunnis, united in Ardas, beseeching divine strength to propel their sacred mission. Their mission is twofold: the complete annihilation of the drug scourge and channeling the exuberance of youth toward constructive pursuits. Granthi Singh Baljit Singh Ji officiated the Ardas ceremony in the sanctified Darbar Sahib.

Chief Minister Mann expressed that Shri Harimandir Sahib has been an eternal wellspring of inspiration for noble causes. The Ardas was an earnest plea for divine blessings to ensure the triumph of their new mission to expel the drug curse from the state. Mann noted that the robust participation of the youth in this campaign illustrates the readiness of Punjab’s young generation to collaborate with the government for this virtuous endeavor.

He emphasized that this marks the inception of a groundbreaking public movement against drugs that will shatter the chains of this curse. The ‘Hope Initiative’ underlines a three-tier strategy: “Aradas Karo, Sashta Lo Aur Khelo.” Thousands of youth congregated in prayer as the inaugural phase of this initiative, while many more joined online. Chief Minister Mann attributed the launch of this campaign to divine grace and a vision to render Punjab drug-free.

This marks the first time that an anti-drug campaign has commenced at the grassroots level. Chief Minister Mann expressed optimism about the near future when this menace would be entirely vanquished through the active engagement and coordination of the populace. In the fight against drugs, the government is simultaneously dismantling drug trafficking networks and focusing on the treatment and rehabilitation of drug victims.
