Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Dedicates ‘Nishan-e-Inqlab’ Plaza to Honor Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s Legacy
Chandigarh, December 4: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann inaugurated the Rs 5 crore ‘Nishan-e-Inqlab’ Plaza on Airport Road, where a 30-foot bronze statue of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh has been installed. The Chief Minister described the plaza as a tribute to the great martyr, aimed at inspiring future generations with his life and philosophy of selfless service to the nation.
Addressing the event, CM Mann emphasized that Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s sacrifice should not be remembered solely on his martyrdom day (March 23) or birth anniversary (September 28) but celebrated every day. He expressed hope that the plaza would serve as a guiding light for travelers from across the world, making them aware of Bhagat Singh’s invaluable contribution to India’s freedom struggle.
The Chief Minister highlighted his government’s dedication to preserving the legacy of Bhagat Singh, citing the recent renaming of Mohali Airport as Shaheed Bhagat Singh Airport. CM Mann criticized previous administrations for neglecting this honor, asserting that such initiatives are essential to keep the legacy of martyrs alive.
Fulfilling Bhagat Singh’s Dreams
CM Mann reaffirmed his government’s commitment to fulfilling Bhagat Singh’s vision of an equitable and harmonious society. He acknowledged that challenges like corruption, nepotism, and poverty still persist but urged people to rise above caste, sectarianism, and religious divisions to build a prosperous India.
The Chief Minister proudly announced that the Punjab government had provided nearly 50,000 transparent job opportunities to youth, promoting “reverse migration” to prevent brain drain. He reiterated that the state government is working tirelessly to restore Punjab’s ancient glory, in alignment with Bhagat Singh’s ideals.
A Call to Action for Youth
Mann called upon the youth to follow in Bhagat Singh’s footsteps, noting that the martyr was not just an individual but a revolutionary institution whose ideology remains relevant. He emphasized that Bhagat Singh envisioned a corruption-free and poverty-free India, urging young people to work towards these goals to pay true homage to the freedom fighters.
“At an age when most youths ask for gifts from their parents, Shaheed Bhagat Singh demanded freedom for his motherland,” said CM Mann, adding that the martyr’s sacrifice should inspire every citizen to serve the nation.
The Chief Minister concluded by encouraging the youth to pledge themselves to building a better Punjab and a stronger India, fulfilling Bhagat Singh’s unfulfilled dreams.
