Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Inaugurates Water Supply and Sewerage Projects in Abohar
In a transformative move for the residents of Abohar, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday inaugurated advanced Water Supply and Sewerage projects, marking a major step towards enhancing the city’s infrastructure. These projects, developed at a cost of ₹119.16 crore, aim to provide clean and sustainable water supply and efficient sewerage services to approximately 1.5 lakh residents.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the state-of-the-art Water Supply Scheme, with a capacity of 3.50 MGD, will ensure the distribution of canal water through an automated system, bringing a reliable solution to the city’s water needs. He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to delivering high-quality basic amenities, emphasizing the importance of uninterrupted water supply for the welfare of Abohar’s residents.
The Water Supply Project, costing ₹27.06 crore, will serve 100% of Abohar’s population in its first phase, while the ₹92.10 crore Sewerage Project will also cover the entire population in its initial implementation. Bhagwant Singh Mann expressed confidence that these projects will catalyze growth and prosperity, not just for Abohar but for the entire border district.
