In a festive gesture marking the New Year, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today bestowed appointment letters upon 520 newly recruited Clerks cum Data Entry Operators for the Punjab State Cooperative Bank. Addressing the jubilant gathering at Tagore Theatre, Mr. Mann emphasized this as just the beginning of a larger employment drive.

Empowering Youth, Reviving Punjab:

Highlighting the state government’s commitment to rejuvenating Punjab, Mr. Mann proudly declared over 40,000 job offers already distributed to young Punjabis. He envisioned them as crucial partners in restoring the state’s former glory, emphasizing its rich heritage and valiant history. Punjab, he proclaimed, is the blessed land of Gurus and patriots, a land where entrepreneurship and leadership flow in the veins of its people.

Celebrating Punjabi Spirit:

The Chief Minister extolled the inherent resilience and hard work of Punjabis, attributing their global success to these very qualities. He vowed to harness this spirit for propelling the state forward, reiterating the government’s unwavering dedication to the cause. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by Punjabis in securing India’s freedom, stating that their contribution to the nation’s independence and food security remains unparalleled.

Progress Over Politics:

Shifting focus to his administration’s achievements, Mr. Mann dismissed criticism from ousted leaders, accusing them of self-serving political agendas devoid of genuine concern for the state. He proudly recounted Punjab’s recent milestone – acquiring the Goindwal power plant from GVK Power. This unprecedented move, he asserted, signals a shift from asset depletion to strategic acquisition, ensuring optimal utilization of Pachwara coal for state-owned power plants.

Transforming Infrastructure:

Improvements in healthcare and education were also highlighted, with new medical colleges and infrastructure upgrades underway. Mr. Mann attributed these decisions to his administration’s deep understanding of the people’s needs, contrasting them with the empty promises and moral grandstanding of traditional political parties.

Punjab Rising:

The Chief Minister enthusiastically announced Punjab’s transformation into a preferred investment destination, attracting over Rs. 55,000 crore and creating nearly 3 lakh jobs within a year. He contrasted this economic surge with the previous 75 years of meager job opportunities, emphasizing the present government’s dedication to youth empowerment.

Humility and Hard Work:

Mr. Mann urged the young recruits to approach their new roles with humility and determination. Confidence and positivity, he advised, should be accompanied by a grounded, hardworking attitude – the key to continued success in any field. He assured them of further job opportunities, with 590 more appointments scheduled for January 18th.

Justice and Service:

Emphasizing ethical conduct, Mr. Mann exhorted the new recruits to prioritize public welfare and ensure justice for the people. He reiterated his government’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of all citizens and pledged to leave no stone unturned in his service to the state.

Taking a Jab at BJP:

Taking a light-hearted jibe at the state BJP chief’s remarks on Punjab’s tableau rejection, Mr. Mann criticized the “misinformed leadership” of individuals like Sunil Jakhar. He attributed the state’s progress to the ousting of such leaders who, he claimed, had hindered development for generations.

Accessible Leadership:

Mr. Mann contrasted his leadership style with that of his predecessors, highlighting his direct engagement with the people. He assured them of his unwavering commitment to fulfilling promises and resolving issues promptly.

Rejection of Tableau:

Concluding his address, Mr. Mann expressed outrage at the Union government’s rejection of Punjab’s tableau featuring revered martyrs like Bhagat Singh and Shaheed Udham Singh. He condemned this act as a blatant insult to national heroes and denounced the need for any “nationalism certificate” from the BJP.
