Punjab CM Mann Unfazed by Threats, Vows to Protect State’s Peace
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, facing threats from radical elements, asserted his commitment to safeguarding the state’s peace, progress, and prosperity. He declared Wednesday, “Intimidation cannot deter me from this noble task.”
Addressing media in Chandigarh, Mann linked the threats to his government’s “zero tolerance” approach against anti-Punjab forces. He vowed not to let “fissiparous elements” disrupt the hard-earned peace or achieve their sinister agendas.
Recognizing Punjab’s vulnerability as a border state, Mann affirmed, “We will face these challenges valiantly, both internal and external, without succumbing to threats.” He highlighted efforts to extradite “masterminds” of anti-Punjab activities seeking refuge abroad, urging their host nations to consider “world peace” and facilitate their return for legal repercussions.
Mann also targeted Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, calling him a “fugitive” for allegedly shirking his duty as Power Minister. He criticized Sidhu’s recent critique of the government’s purchase of a private thermal power plant, terming it “baseless and misleading.” Reminding Sidhu of the proverb “little knowledge is dangerous,” Mann advised him to verify facts before making public statements.
Confident in his government’s performance, Mann predicted a clean sweep of all 13 Lok Sabha seats in the upcoming general election. He expressed faith in the people’s support, citing successful welfare initiatives. “Punjab will become a lighthouse,” he proclaimed, envisioning a historic electoral outcome where the public rejects the opposition’s “anti-Punjab stance” and overwhelmingly endorses the government’s “pro-people policies.”
