Punjab Government Appeals for Participation in Shaheedi Jor Mela, Announces School Holidays
The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, held a meeting with the Sri Fatehgarh Sahib administration today to discuss ongoing preparations for the Shaheedi Jor Mela. During the meeting, the Chief Minister appealed to the Sangat (community) to participate in a unique tribute to the martyrdom of the Guru’s younger sons.
On December 27th, coinciding with the Martyrdom Day of the Chotte Sahibzadas, a mournful bugle will be played from 10:00 AM to 10:10 AM. The Chief Minister urged everyone, regardless of their location, to stand in silent remembrance of the incredible sacrifice made by the young princes.
Taking to social media, CM Mann shared details of the meeting, highlighting thorough discussions about the Shaheedi Jor Mela preparations. He emphasized strict arrangements by the administration and adequate provisions for the comfort and safety of devotees attending the mela.
In a further gesture, the Punjab government declared December 26th and 27th as holidays for all government schools across the state to facilitate participation in the Shaheedi Jor Mela.
