Punjab Government Launches ‘CM’s Yogashala’ at Village and Block Levels
The Punjab government has taken a significant step towards promoting health and wellness among its citizens by extending the reach of ‘CM’s Yogashala’ to villages and blocks across the state. This initiative, spearheaded by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, aims to make yoga accessible to people at the grassroots level, emphasizing its importance in maintaining physical and mental well-being.
Yoga, an integral part of India’s cultural heritage, is renowned for its ability to enhance both physical fitness and mental tranquility. Recognizing its significance, Chief Minister Mann has underscored the need to prioritize yoga as a means to foster a healthier populace.
To facilitate participation in ‘CM’s Yogashala,’ the Punjab government has recruited 315 new yoga trainers, who will be deployed to conduct free yoga classes in villages and blocks. This concerted effort reflects the government’s commitment to promoting holistic wellness and preventive healthcare practices.
Previously, the ‘CM’s Yogashala’ initiative was launched in 24 cities across the state, garnering substantial participation and benefiting thousands of individuals. Now, with its expansion to the grassroots level, the initiative is poised to reach an even wider audience, empowering communities to embrace yoga as a way of life.
Chief Minister Mann, an avid practitioner of yoga himself, emphasizes the importance of maintaining a balance between physical and mental health. By promoting yoga as a tool for stress relief and holistic well-being, the government aims to address the rising levels of stress and lifestyle-related ailments prevalent in society.
