“Punjab Government Prioritizes Palledars, Integral to State’s Economic Fabric: Lal Chand Kataruchak”
In a significant move towards recognizing the pivotal role played by Palledars in Punjab’s economic landscape, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to their welfare. Palledars, who form a crucial part of the state’s economic structure, contribute significantly to the successful management of the Wheat and Paddy seasons.
Speaking at a meeting held at the Anaj Bhawan in Chandigarh, Minister Kataruchak underscored the government’s dedication to addressing the concerns of Palledars. The meeting, chaired by Minister Kataruchak and attended by Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar, provided a platform for dialogue with the Joint Palledar Mazdoor Union, Punjab.
Addressing the demands put forth by the Union, Minister Kataruchak emphasized that the labor force remains the government’s top priority. Reflecting the government’s commitment, Minister Kataruchak highlighted key measures taken to alleviate the challenges faced by Palledars. These include the waiver of experience conditions for loading and unloading work and the revision of Mandi Labor Charges within a one-year timeframe, as opposed to the earlier three years, following discussions with the Union Government.
Assuring the Union of proactive steps, Ministers Kataruchak and Bhullar pledged to escalate justified demands to appropriate authorities for resolution. The government remains steadfast in its efforts to address the grievances of Palledars and ensure their well-being.
The meeting witnessed the presence of key officials, including Secretary Expenditure Muhammad Tayyab, Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Puneet Goyal, Additional Secretary Labor Department Dr. Sona Thind, and Additional Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Dr. Anjuman Bhaskar.
