Punjab Government Prioritizes Tourism Development at India International Trade Fair 2023
Chandigarh, India – [November 19, 2023] – The Punjab Government is committed to fully realizing the potential of its tourism industry, emphasizing ecotourism, adventure sports, and water sports. This declaration was made by Anmol Gagan Maan, Punjab’s Minister for Tourism and Cultural Affairs and Investment Promotion, during the Punjab Day Function at the ongoing India International Trade Fair 2023 (IITF-2023).
Maan emphasized the Punjab Government’s unwavering dedication to exploring every facet of Punjab’s tourism sector, ensuring that Non-Resident Indian (NRI) Punjabis, international, and domestic travelers alike can experience the state’s rich cultural and historical heritage. She highlighted the Rs. 15 crore budget allocated for organizing heritage fairs and festivals for the first time, underscoring the Punjab Government’s ambition to make Punjab a tourism frontrunner in India.
Renowned Punjabi singer Afsana Khan captivated the audience with her mesmerizing performance during the event. The Tourism Department presented the chief guest with a memento, and Maan acknowledged the contributions of dignitaries and artists, including MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney, PSIEC Chairman Dalvir Singh, Principal Secretary Tourism and Cultural Affairs Rakhee Gupta Bhandari, singer Afsana Khan, and Bhangra artist Bhola Kalehri.Additional Director Tourism and Cultural Affairs Rakesh Kumar Popli, Administrator Punjab Pavilion Davinderpal Singh, and Deputy Administrator Gurpreet Singh were also present at the event.
