Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit leads Constitution Day celebrations at Raj Bhawan Chandigarh

Chandigarh, November 26: Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit led the Constitution Day celebrations at Raj Bhawan Chandigarh today.

On this occasion, the Governor said that the Constitution of India is the quintessential achievement of a global democracy. It outlines a map for good governance and makes us aware of not only our rights but also our duties.

He exhorted the staff to reaffirm their firm adherence to the constitutional ideals, as these are the ideals that have helped the nation proceed on the path of progress.

The Governor also said that the Constitution Day is an opportunity to ponder over our actions and check that we as an individual, as a family, as a society, are serious about our duties as expected from us.

He said that the cornerstone of the Constitution is summed up in its Preamble. Its singular focus is on how to increase social good. Its entire edifice rests on Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.
