Punjab Police foils target killing plan by associates of Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar in the state; Three shooters arrested

According to the visionary thinking of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, during the ongoing campaign to make Punjab a safe state, the Counter Intelligence (CI) of Bathinda in a joint operation with the district police arrested three shooters related to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar in the state. A possible target killing plan has been foiled.
Giving this information, Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said here today that the arrested persons have been identified as Karandeep Singh alias Kanu resident of Navi Basti Maur Mandi, Raghuveer Singh and Kulwinder Singh alias Bittu both residents of village Kot Shamir Bathinda. . The police teams also seized his Hyundai Verna car besides recovering three pistols, including one 9 mm pistol and two .32 bore pistols, along with six live cartridges and six magazines from his possession.
DGP Gaurav Yadav said that the police had received intelligence that associates of Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar were planning to carry out target killings in districts Bathinda, Mohali and nearby areas, acting on which CI Bathinda and Teams of Bathinda police set up a roadblock at Maur Chowk during a joint operation to nab the shooters.
He said that the police teams arrested the three accused when they were coming from Maur towards Bathinda in their Hyundai Verna car and recovered three pistols along with coins and bullets from their possession.
The DGP said that the preliminary investigation revealed that the accused Karandeep Kanu was in direct contact with Lawrence Bishnoi and the weapons recovered from the accused were to be used to carry out the target killing. He said that further investigation is going on to find out the back-and-forth relationship in this case.
Giving more information, AIG CI Bathinda Avneet Kaur Sidhu said that the police teams have identified two more operators of this module, who are being raided to catch them.
SSP Bathinda Deepak Pareek said that in this regard, FIR No. 72 dated 27-06-2024 has been registered under Section 25 of the Arms Act at Maur Bathinda police station.
