Punjab to Open 100 More Aam Aadmi Clinics, Expand Healthcare Access

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced the opening of 100 new Aam Aadmi clinics in the state, further expanding access to quality healthcare for residents. During a recent meeting with the Health and Family Welfare Department, Mann emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening primary healthcare services across the state.

Boosting Healthcare Infrastructure:

The Aam Aadmi clinics have emerged as a cornerstone of Punjab’s healthcare reform. These clinics offer essential drugs and diagnostic tests free of charge, significantly reducing the financial burden on patients. The state has already opened 664 such clinics, benefiting over 80 lakh people.

Expanding Medical Education:

Addressing the need for skilled healthcare professionals, Mann pushed for the expedited opening of new medical colleges in Punjab. He highlighted the limited availability of medical colleges, with only three operational in the state despite 75 years of independence. However, this scenario is set to change drastically.

Five new medical colleges are scheduled to open within the next year, bringing the total to eight. This expansion will significantly increase the number of medical graduates, improving healthcare infrastructure and access to treatment within the state. Mann envisions a future where every district houses a medical college, ensuring quality healthcare and education for all.

Commitment to Quality Healthcare:

Mann emphasized the importance of delivering high-quality healthcare services to the public. He declared healthcare as a priority area for the government and urged officials to leave no stone unturned in achieving this goal. He believes that the government’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and expanding medical education will ultimately lead to a healthier and more prosperous Punjab.
