Punjab Vigilance Bureau Observes Vigilance Awareness Week to Promote Transparency and Integrity

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) is observing Vigilance Awareness Week from October 30 to November 5, 2023, to raise awareness about the pernicious effects of corruption and promote transparency, accountability, probity, and integrity within society and public servants.

The week-long campaign was launched by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who urged citizens to join hands with the government in the fight against corruption. He assured that any corrupt practices would be met with stern actions.

VB Chief Director Varinder Kumar said that the awareness campaign aims to empower the public as active participants in the collective mission of eradicating corruption from governmental offices and society at large. He called upon all officers and officials to work diligently and clear the backlog of pending vigilance cases.

During the inauguration of the Vigilance Awareness Week, all field officers of the VB took an oath of integrity, emphasizing the imperative need for maintaining high ethical standards in their roles. Range SSPs have also devised a multitude of awareness programs scheduled for educational institutions and offices throughout the week.

The VB is committed to creating a corruption-free Punjab, and this awareness campaign is a step in that direction. The public can play a vital role by reporting any corrupt practices to the Anti-Corruption Action Line on WhatsApp at 95012-00200.
