Rahul Gandhi Calls PM Modi Panauti at Political Rally
Rahul Gandhi Mocks PM Modi as ‘Panauti’ for India’s World Cup Loss, Unveils Congress Poll Manifesto for Rajasthan
In a fiery speech at an election rally in Jalore, Rajasthan, on Tuesday, November 21, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, blaming him for India’s loss to Australia in the recently concluded ICC Cricket World Cup finals.
Gandhi, who is known for his sharp wit and penchant for coining catchy phrases, referred to Modi as “panauti,” a Hindi term for “bad omen” or “bringer of misfortune.” He quipped that while the Indian team was playing well and on the verge of victory, Modi’s presence jinxed their chances, leading to their defeat.
“Ache bhale hamare ladke waha pe World Cup jeet jaate, par panauti ne harwa diya,” Gandhi declared, drawing thunderous applause from the crowd. “Our boys were almost winning the World Cup, but the ‘bad omen’ made them lose.”
Gandhi’s remarks sent shockwaves through the political arena, sparking a flurry of reactions from both supporters and detractors. His supporters hailed his audacity and willingness to speak his mind, while his detractors accused him of playing cheap politics and resorting to personal attacks.
Undeterred by the criticism, Gandhi stood firm by his words, asserting that he was merely reflecting the public’s sentiment. “TV wale yeh nahi kahenge, magar janta jaanthi hai,” he said, referring to mainstream media channels. “Mainstream TV news channels will not show this, but the public knows.”
Gandhi’s comments came on the same day that the Congress party released its poll manifesto, titled “Jan Ghishna Patra,” for the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly election scheduled to take place on November 25. The manifesto outlines the party’s vision and promises for the people of Rajasthan, including a pledge to conduct a caste census if voted back to power.
The manifesto aims to address the pressing concerns of the state, such as unemployment, inflation, and farmer distress, and promises to implement a series of measures to alleviate these issues. It also emphasizes the party’s commitment to social justice, women’s empowerment, and youth development.
With the Rajasthan election drawing closer, Gandhi’s fiery rhetoric and the release of the Congress manifesto are sure to intensify the political battleground. It remains to be seen whether Gandhi’s bold approach and the party’s promises will resonate with the voters and propel the Congress back to power in Rajasthan.
