Rajasthan Gets a Major Infrastructure Boost: Ram Setu Bridge Opens in Balotra
Nitin Gadkari Inaugurates 2km Overbridge, Easing Traffic and Enhancing Safety
Balotra, Rajasthan: In a significant boost for infrastructure development in Rajasthan, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari recently inaugurated the Ram Setu railway overbridge in Balotra. Spanning a 2km stretch on National Highway-112 (Jodhpur-Barmer section) and built with two lanes at a cost of Rs 102 crore, the bridge promises to be a game-changer for the region.
Easing Traffic Congestion and Enhancing Safety:
Prior to the bridge’s construction, Balotra residents frequently faced traffic congestion at level crossings. The Ram Setu overbridge now provides a smooth and uninterrupted flow of traffic, significantly reducing congestion and delays. Additionally, by diverting heavy vehicles away from the city center, the bridge enhances safety by minimizing the risk of accidents.
State Government Committed to Strengthening Road Network:
The Rajasthan Chief Minister, Bhajanlal Sharma, who participated in the inauguration virtually, emphasized the state government’s commitment to further strengthening the road network. He announced plans to issue approvals in a time-bound manner for various infrastructure projects, including ring roads, bridges, and ROBs along key expressways like Mumbai-Delhi and Jamnagar-Amritsar.
Boosting Connectivity and Economic Growth:
The Ram Setu bridge is not just a solution to traffic woes; it is a stepping stone towards economic growth and improved connectivity in Rajasthan. The bridge will not only facilitate smoother movement of goods and people but also attract investments and boost tourism in the region.
