RBI Regional Director Meets Chief Minister to Discuss Banking Developments in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, August 14 – Anupam Kishore, the Regional Director of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), met with Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday evening to discuss recent banking developments and initiatives in Himachal Pradesh. The meeting focused on enhancing financial literacy and promoting financial inclusion across the state.

The Chief Minister extended his congratulations to the RBI on its 90th anniversary, commending the institution for its steadfast commitment to maintaining financial stability and contributing to economic growth. He also recognized the RBI’s pivotal role in aligning with national development goals.

During the meeting, Anupam Kishore highlighted various initiatives undertaken by the RBI to improve financial literacy in the region. He also informed the Chief Minister about a state-level quiz on financial literacy for undergraduate students, held in Shimla as part of the RBI’s 90th anniversary celebrations. The initiative aims to foster greater financial awareness among the youth of Himachal Pradesh.

Banking Ombudsman S.K. Yadav was also present during the discussion.
