Shimla, Himachal Pradesh: In a bid to boost tourism and improve infrastructure in the picturesque hill station of Shimla, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced a Rs. 100 crore investment. This significant allocation will focus on two key areas: upgrading the city’s roads and replacing overhead power cables with underground ones.
Revamping the Road Network:
- Rs. 45 crore allocated for widening and improving the Circular Road. This crucial artery often sees congestion, and the expansion will ease traffic flow for both locals and tourists.
- PWD directed to remove bottlenecks on the Circular Road to further enhance commuter convenience.
Enhancing Shimla’s Charm:
- Rs. 55 crore dedicated to laying underground power cables. This will not only improve the aesthetic appeal of the town by removing unsightly overhead wires but also ensure uninterrupted power supply even during harsh weather conditions like heavy snowfall.
Boosting Tourism:
- The Chief Minister expressed his commitment to attracting more tourists to Himachal Pradesh. A target of 5 crore tourists has been set, and infrastructure development plays a crucial role in achieving this goal.
- Improved roads and a reliable power supply will significantly enhance the visitor experience in Shimla.
this Rs. 100 crore investment marks a significant step towards revitalizing Shimla and making it an even more attractive destination for both tourists and residents.
