SJVN Achieves ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System Certification

SJVN (Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited), a leading player in the power sector, proudly announced that it has successfully obtained the Anti-Bribery Management System Certification (ABMS) ISO 37001:2016. Sh. Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director of SJVN, shared this significant achievement and emphasized that SJVN is the first PSU (Public Sector Undertaking) in the Power Sector to earn this prestigious certification.

The ABMS ISO 37001:2016 is a comprehensive Management System designed to prevent, detect, and respond to acts of bribery effectively. Sh. Sharma underlined the collective pride felt by all SJVN employees in reaching this milestone, highlighting the company’s unwavering commitment to ethical practices and transparency.

This esteemed ABMS certification was granted by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and serves as a testament to SJVN’s dedication to implementing robust anti-bribery policies and procedures. Sh. Sharma emphasized that, at SJVN, maintaining ethical standards is paramount, and the organization ensures that all employees and stakeholders adhere to these principles. He also stressed that integrity forms the bedrock of responsible citizenship and sustainable development, and SJVN is committed to upholding these values.

The certification process involved the successful implementation of ISO 37001:2016 standards across 14 locations, including SJVN’s Corporate Headquarters in Shimla, Liaison Office in Delhi, and twelve project locations situated in the states of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, and Gujarat.

Sh. Nand Lal Sharma extended his appreciation to Sh. Prem Prakash (IOFS), Chief Vigilance Officer at SJVN, and his team for their dedicated efforts and active involvement in achieving this remarkable certification.

ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System Certification is an international standard that provides comprehensive solutions for the eradication of bribery-related incidents and concerns. The system encompasses various components, including the establishment of an Anti-Bribery Policy, the appointment of individuals to oversee anti-bribery compliance, employee training, risk assessment, and the implementation of reporting and investigation procedures.
