Shimla, January 22, 2024: In a move to leverage expertise and boost infrastructure development, SJVN Limited and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration marks a significant step forward in enhancing technical capabilities and promoting synergy between the power and highway sectors.

SJVN’s Expertise to Benefit NHAI Projects:

  • Technical Consultancy Services: SJVN will utilize its expertise to review slope protection works at crucial locations like the Parwanoo-Solan-Shimla section of NH-05, Kullu Manali Highway, and other NHAI projects in Himachal Pradesh.
  • Design and Construction Support: SJVN will provide design review services, peer review services, and technical vetting of NHAI designs. Additionally, they will monitor construction works, recommend quality control tests, and suggest construction methodologies as needed.

Collaboration Benefits:

  • Expertise Sharing: This MoU fosters knowledge and resource exchange between SJVN and NHAI, leading to improved technical capabilities and project execution.
  • Synergy and Optimization: The collaboration aims to create synergy between the power and highway sectors, optimizing resources and promoting efficient infrastructure development.
  • Long-term Commitment: The initial term of the MoU is set at 24 months, reflecting a long-term commitment to collaboration and achieving shared goals.

Signing Ceremony:

The MoU was signed in New Delhi by Sh. Rajeev Aggarwal, Chief General Manager of SJVN, and Sh. Amarendra Kumar, Chief General Manager (Technical) of NHAI. Senior officials from both organizations witnessed the signing, marking the beginning of a fruitful partnership.

This collaboration is expected to significantly enhance technical expertise, optimize resources, and ultimately contribute to the advancement of infrastructure development in India.
