SJVN Bags Dual Honours at Prestigious SCOPE Awards Ceremony

Shimla, January 18, 2024: SJVN, a leading power sector player in India, has bagged two prestigious accolades at the coveted SCOPE Awards ceremony held in New Delhi today. The company received the SCOPE Excellence Award in Institutional Category II and the SCOPE Meritorious Award for Corporate Social Responsibility & Responsiveness, both for the year 2016-17.

The awards were presented by the Honorable Vice President of India, Sh. Jagdeep Dhankhar, during a glittering ceremony. An esteemed jury panel led by a former Chief Justice of India selected the deserving recipients for the 2016-17 SCOPE Awards. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony was delayed, and awards from both 2016-17 and 2019-20 were presented today.

Recognition for Excellence in Power Sector & CSR

Chairman & Managing Director of SJVN, Sh. Nand Lal Sharma, expressed immense pride at receiving these awards. He stated that the SCOPE Excellence Award acknowledges the company’s unwavering commitment to growth and progress within the power sector. In just the past two years, SJVN has successfully commissioned one hydro and two solar projects, bringing its total installed capacity to an impressive 2226.5 MW.

The SCOPE Meritorious Award for CSR shines a light on SJVN’s outstanding efforts in the realm of Corporate Social Responsibility. Through its registered trust, SJVN Foundation, the company’s CSR initiatives touch lives across diverse sections of society. To date, SJVN has committed over Rs. 412 crore towards various CSR activities encompassing education & skill development, health & hygiene, infrastructure development & community asset creation, cultural preservation & sports promotion, sustainable development, and support during natural disasters.
