SJVN Organizes Swachhta Pakhwada 2024 for Clean and Green Environment
SJVN (Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited) is observing Swachhta Pakhwada 2024 from May 16th to 31st across all its projects and offices in India. Sushil Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN administered the Swachhta Pledge to employees at the Liaison Office, New Delhi, marking the commencement of the campaign. The pledge emphasizes individual responsibility for maintaining a clean and healthy environment and encourages employees to participate in cleanliness initiatives.
Swachhta Pakhwada (Cleanliness Fortnight) is an annual program organized by SJVN since 2016. This year’s focus is on intensive sanitation efforts within the organization’s work ecosystem and surrounding communities.
SJVN’s Swachhta Pakhwada Action Plan 2024 includes:
- Cleanliness Drives in prominent public places
- Bio-composting of office canteen waste
- Shramdan (voluntary community service) by SJVN employees
- Awareness programs to discourage plastic use and promote eco-friendly materials
- Setting up an office waste paper recycling mechanism
- Community plantation drives
- Cleanliness drives of rivers near SJVN projects
- Workshops, Swachhta Exhibitions, Expert Talks, and Nukkad Nataks (street plays)
- Campaigns on Solid & Liquid Waste Management (SLWM) facilities and vermicomposting
