Shimla, February 6, 2024: Smt. Geeta Kapur, the newly appointed Chairman & Managing Director of SJVN, met with Sh. Prabodh Saxena, Chief Secretary of Himachal Pradesh, shortly after assuming her role. During the meeting, Smt. Kapur discussed various key topics with the Chief Secretary.

Company Portfolio and Project Updates:

• Smt. Kapur briefed the Chief Secretary on SJVN’s overall portfolio, operational and financial performance.
• She provided a detailed update on the status of various projects currently being operated and constructed by the company within the state.
• Emphasis was placed on seeking the state government’s support for both operational and ongoing projects, highlighting their potential to contribute to the socio-economic development of Himachal Pradesh.

Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana:

• Smt. Kapur informed the Chief Secretary about the implementation of the newly launched Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana (Rooftop Solar Scheme).
• It was noted that SJVN has been appointed as the nodal agency for this scheme in Himachal Pradesh, along with Punjab and Arunachal Pradesh, by the Ministry of Power, Government of India.

Vision and Mission:

• The meeting concluded with Smt. Kapur reaffirming SJVN’s commitment to its ambitious goals.
• She highlighted the company’s unwavering efforts towards achieving its New Mission of 12,000 MW by 2026 and Shared Vision of 25,000 MW by 2030, ultimately reaching an installed capacity of 50,000 MW by 2040.
