In light of the escalating temperatures, the Health Department has released an advisory aimed at mitigating the risks associated with heat-related ailments. Highlighting the adverse effects of extreme heat on the body’s thermoregulatory system, medical experts underscore the importance of preventive measures to safeguard against heat-induced illnesses.

Medical professionals emphasize the vulnerability of certain demographics to the detrimental effects of excessive heat, including newborns, young children, pregnant women, the elderly aged 65 and above, laborers, individuals with obesity, and those suffering from mental health disorders or cardiovascular ailments.

To combat the heatwave, experts recommend avoiding exposure to the sun during peak hours between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. and staying hydrated by consuming fluids at regular intervals.
