Strengthening the Core: Focus on Team Restructuring in CWC Meeting: Himachal Leaders Join CWC Meeting to Shape Party’s Future

Himachal CM Sukhvinder Sukhu and Congress Leader Pratibha Singh to Attend CWC Meeting in Delhi

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Pradesh Congress President Pratibha Singh are set to participate in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting scheduled in Delhi. This pivotal meeting will focus on strategies to strengthen the party organization at various levels. Alongside them, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri is also in Delhi for potential discussions with Union ministers regarding key state matters.

Following the CWC meeting, CM Sukhu plans to meet Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge. During this interaction, he is expected to extend a formal invitation for Kharge’s presence at the celebrations marking the completion of two years of the Himachal Pradesh government. Additionally, discussions around cabinet expansion and potential reshuffling are also on the cards.

Currently, one ministerial position in the Himachal Pradesh cabinet remains vacant. Speculations suggest that two ministers from the Shimla parliamentary constituency may be replaced to accommodate fresh faces. Sources indicate that CM Sukhu has already deliberated on this matter with senior Congress leaders, including General Secretary KC Venugopal and state in-charge, but final decisions are likely to involve consultations with Kharge and Rahul Gandhi.

Meanwhile, the process of restructuring the Pradesh Congress Committee is underway following the recent dissolution of the executive body. Observers have been appointed across all 12 districts and four parliamentary constituencies to oversee the formation of the new organization.

Two national secretaries of the Congress recently visited Himachal to gather feedback from state leaders and affiliated organizations. The restructuring has led to increased lobbying between factions led by CM Sukhu and Pratibha Singh, each vying to secure significant roles for their supporters within the restructured organization.

This phase marks a critical juncture for the Himachal Pradesh Congress as it aims to balance internal dynamics while preparing for upcoming political challenges.
