As the Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat draw near, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has unveiled its list of star campaigners, with Sunita Kejriwal taking the lead role. Despite Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, along with senior AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, being behind bars, they have been named as star campaigners for the polls.

Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of Arvind Kejriwal, joins Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and other prominent leaders in the list of 40 star campaigners submitted to the Election Commission by the AAP. The inclusion of leaders currently in custody underscores the party’s commitment to continue its campaign efforts despite challenges.

Notably absent from the list are the names of AAP Rajya Sabha MPs Harbhajan Singh and Swati Maliwal. However, AAP Rajya Sabha MPs Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha, and Sandeep Pathak are among the prominent figures listed as star campaigners.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 in connection with a money laundering case linked to a Delhi excise policy has not deterred the AAP’s campaign efforts. Kejriwal’s presence on the list reflects the party’s determination to actively participate in the electoral process.

The AAP, in alliance with the Congress as part of the INDIA bloc, is contesting two out of the 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat – Bharuch and Bhavnagar. With the elections scheduled for a single phase on May 7, and the deadline for filing nomination papers set for April 19, the AAP’s campaign in Gujarat gains momentum with Sunita Kejriwal at the forefront.
