THDC India Limited Co-Hosts 5th Uttarakhand State-Level Yogasana Sports Competition, Celebrating Wellness and Yoga
Rishikesh, 25 October 2024: THDC India Limited, a prominent public sector company in India’s energy sector, in partnership with the Uttarakhand Yogasana Sports Association and Dehradun District Yogasana Sports Association, is co-hosting the 5th Uttarakhand State-Level Yogasana Sports Competition 2024 at its Corporate Office in Rishikesh. This prestigious three-day event, running from 25th to 27th October 2024, offers a unique platform for participants from all over the state to showcase their yogic talents and abilities, as shared by Sh. R. K. Vishnoi, CMD of THDCIL.
The event was inaugurated by Sh. Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel) of THDC India Limited, who presided as the Chief Guest. The ceremony began with the auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp in the presence of notable guests, including Sh. Dineshwar Prasad Raturi (Former Air Force Officer), Dr. Subhash Kumar (Ayurvedic Unani Adhikari, Tehri Garhwal), Sh. Veer Singh, ED (Business Development) THDCIL, and other senior officials. Addressing the gathering, Sh. Shallinder Singh highlighted the essential role of yoga in creating a balanced and harmonious life, resonating deeply with the audience and underscoring the event’s focus on well-being.
Sh. Singh also underscored THDC India Limited’s commitment to community development through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, which focus on promoting health, wellness, and sports, particularly among youth and underserved communities. He reaffirmed THDCIL’s dedication to fostering a healthier society, emphasizing that the company has consistently been proactive in enhancing the socio-economic well-being of Uttarakhand and regions where it operates. According to Sh. Singh, “THDCIL is always at the forefront of such initiatives, contributing significantly to our overall efficiency. THDCIL has played a vital role in advancing healthcare, education, and infrastructure across Uttarakhand, from establishing schools to supporting healthcare initiatives, aiming for sustainable growth in its communities. The Yogasana competition is a part of this vision, focusing on physical well-being as part of holistic development. During the inauguration, participants delivered inspiring yoga performances, which captivated the audience and set a positive tone for the event.
This year, approximately 300 participants, aged 10 to 55, from nearly all Indian states are competing in the event, highlighting the wide appeal and cultural richness of yoga across the country. The competition serves not only as a platform for showcasing yogic skills but also as a celebration of India’s yoga heritage and commitment to health and wellness.
