THDCIL Wins Prestigious PSU Leadership Award for Digital Transformation Excellence
Rishikesh, June 22, 2024 – THDC India Limited (THDCIL) has been honored with the PSU Leadership & Excellence Award 2024 for ‘Leadership in Digital Transformation’. The award was presented by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister of State (Ind. Charge) for Science & Technology and other portfolios, at a ceremony held at The Lalit, New Delhi. Dr. Singh lauded the winners for their pivotal roles in steering India towards its vision of becoming a Developed Nation by 2047.
Sh. R. K. Vishnoi, CMD of THDCIL, congratulated the team for their dedication and hard work, emphasizing the significance of digital transformation in today’s energy landscape. “Digital transformation, complemented by AI, is essential for enhancing efficiency, transparency, and service delivery in the dynamic energy sector,” said Vishnoi. He highlighted THDCIL’s adoption of innovative technologies and commitment to a paperless working environment, citing initiatives like the Egyan Sanchay online learning platform, the digitization of finance management, and telemedicine services.
Sh. Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel), received the award on behalf of THDCIL. Singh emphasized the award as a testament to THDCIL’s dedication to innovation and transformation within public sector enterprises. “This award recognizes our efforts in integrating advanced digital solutions to enhance operational capabilities and contribute to nation-building,” he stated.
THDCIL, a Category-1 Mini Ratna Class-A Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU), manages an energy capacity of 1587 MW, including hydro, wind, and solar power. The company is set to expand its capabilities with an additional 1444 MW in hydro capacity, including the 1000 MW Tehri Pumped Storage Plant, and the 1320 MW Khurja Super Critical thermal power project in Bulandshahr. Additionally, THDCIL’s operational coal mines at Amelia, Madhya Pradesh, commenced commercial operations six months ahead of schedule, marking another significant achievement.
Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized the transformative journey of India and the crucial role played by PSUs like THDCIL in this progress. The recognition of THDCIL’s digital transformation efforts underscores its leadership and commitment to technological advancement and sustainability in the energy sector.
