The 51st All India Inter-Institutional Table Tennis Championships showcased electrifying performances on its fourth day at Panjab University’s Gymnasium Hall. The much-anticipated Mixed Doubles final is set, with top-seeded PSPB pair Yashaswini Ghorpade and Harmeet Desai gearing up to face the third-seeded RBI duo Diya Chitale and Manush Shah.

Both pairs demonstrated exceptional skill, resilience, and focus as they cruised through the semifinals and quarterfinals. The journey to the final wasn’t easy, but the players exhibited remarkable endurance, juggling between singles and doubles matches to secure their positions.

  • Yashaswini and Harmeet triumphed over Poymantee Baisya and Akash Pal (RSPB) in straight sets with scores of 11-9, 10-12, 12-10, 11-4.
  • Diya and Manush displayed grit, overcoming Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ronit Bhanja (RSPB) in a nail-biting five-game thriller, clinching victory with scores of 8-11, 9-11, 11-9, 12-10, 11-9.

Quarterfinal Recap:

  • Yashaswini and Harmeet defeated Shruti Amrute and Anirban Ghosh (RSPB) convincingly with a 3-0 victory (11-8, 11-7, 12-10).
  • Poymantee and Akash secured their semifinal berth by outclassing Taneesha Kotecha and Jash Modi (MHA) in a swift 3-0 match (11-7, 11-8, 11-6).
  • Diya and Manush showcased dominance in their 3-0 win against Seleena Deepti Selvakumar and Rahul Yadav (CRSB), finishing 14-12, 11-4, 11-9.
  • Sutirtha and Ronit claimed a commanding 3-0 victory over Anjali Rohilla and Himnakulpuingheta Jeho (IA&AD), scoring 11-7, 11-5, 11-6.

The men’s and women’s singles knockout rounds also began today, with two rounds completed in the men’s category and one in the women’s, setting the stage for intense competition ahead.
