Ali Yerlikaya, the Interior Minister, revealed that two police officers sustained minor injuries during the incident, which unfolded in the capital city of Ankara shortly before the parliament was set to convene following a summer recess.

Emergency services were swiftly deployed to the scene. Security has also been increased around the parliament and the Ministry of Interior building in the wake of the attack.
