Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and CM Conduct Joint Visit to Flood-Affected District Kullu, Vow Swift Relief

In the aftermath of devastating floods that struck Kullu district, causing widespread damage and distress, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, along with the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, conducted a joint visit to the affected area to assess the situation and expedite relief efforts.

The heavy monsoon rains that lashed the region over the past week resulted in flash floods, submerging several villages and causing significant loss of life and property. Upon their arrival, the dignitaries witnessed firsthand the magnitude of the disaster and interacted with the affected residents to understand their immediate needs and challenges.

During their interaction with the locals, Shri Nitin Gadkari expressed his heartfelt condolences to those who lost their loved ones in the calamity and assured the affected communities that the central government would provide all necessary support to rebuild their lives. He emphasized the need for a comprehensive disaster management plan to mitigate the impact of such natural disasters in the future.

Chief Minister, in his address to the people, pledged to expedite the distribution of relief materials, including food, water, and medical supplies, to ensure that the affected families receive the necessary aid promptly. He also assured them that the state government would undertake immediate measures to restore infrastructure, roads, and communication networks that were severely damaged in the floods.

Shri Nitin Gadkari announced a special allocation of funds from the central government’s relief kitty to accelerate rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in the flood-hit region. The funds will be directed towards rebuilding homes, reconstructing public infrastructure, and restoring agricultural activities to help the affected communities regain their livelihoods.
