UPS Offers Drone Technology for Medical Supplies in Remote Areas of Himachal Pradesh

Dubai-based logistics giant UPS has offered to help Himachal Pradesh recover from the recent monsoon disaster by providing drone technology for the transportation of medicines and vaccines to remote areas. The company has also assured to supply much-needed medicines and vaccines to the state government free of cost.

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed gratitude to the company for its offer and said that the state government would develop a detailed proposal in consultation with the Department of Digital Technology and Governance.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the extensive damage caused by the torrential rains and landslides during the monsoon season, resulting in huge losses to both public and private properties. He said that the state government has allocated a relief package of Rs. 4500 crore to assist affected individuals and aid in the recovery efforts.

The Chief Minister also appreciated the invaluable support from the people of the state, who have donated more than Rs. 200 crore to the Aapda Rahat Kosh-2023. He said that their enthusiastic willingness to lend a helping hand has played a crucial role in alleviating the challenges faced during this difficult period.
