Walkathon at Sukhna Lake Boosts Voter Awareness in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 18th May 2024: To promote voter awareness, the Chief Electoral Officer, U.T. Chandigarh, organized a walkathon at Sukhna Lake under the SVEEP Program. Over 120 NSS volunteers from six schools participated, chanting slogans for 100% ethical voting. Flagged off by CEO Sh. Vijay N. Zade, District Election Officer Sh. Vinay Pratap Singh, and State Icon Ms. Samaira Sandhu, the event aimed to encourage voter participation. Facilities like water coolers and waiting rooms will be provided at polling stations. Polling for Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency is on June 1, 2024.
