On the occasion of Independence Day, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann celebrated the spirit of service, courage, and excellence by conferring state awards upon 26 eminent personalities who have made exceptional contributions in diverse fields. In addition to recognizing these achievers, the Chief Minister also bestowed the prestigious Chief Minister’s Rakshak Padak on four police officers and the Chief Minister’s Medal for Outstanding Duty on fifteen dedicated members of the police force. The state-level function held on Thursday symbolized Punjab’s deep respect for individuals who have gone beyond the ordinary to serve society, uphold duty, and inspire generations.
The state awardees came from varied walks of life—social activists, environmentalists, writers, poets, artistes, educationists, doctors, and government officials—all recognized for their invaluable service in their respective domains, which ultimately serve the larger public interest. Alongside, the Chief Minister honoured four police officials with the Chief Minister’s Rakshak Padak for their exemplary courage and duty. The recipients of this prestigious recognition were ASI Rajinder Singh, ASI Narinder Singh, Senior Constable Jaswant Singh, and Harpal Kaur. Their unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order and protecting citizens was acknowledged with gratitude on this national day of pride.
To further highlight the critical role of the police force in safeguarding Punjab, fifteen officers were decorated with the Chief Minister’s Medal for Outstanding Duty. This distinguished honour was conferred upon Inspector Jatin Kapoor, Inspector Amalokdeep Singh Kahlon, Inspector Navneet Kaur, Inspector Prabhjeet Kumar, Sub-Inspector Lovedeep Singh, Sub-Inspector Gurmel Singh, Sub-Inspector Dimple Kumar, Sub-Inspector Sukhchain Singh, Sub-Inspector Satwinder Singh, ASI Harjinder Singh, ASI Sandeep Singh, Head Constable Sandeep Singh, Head Constable Iqbal Singh, Head Constable Karambir Singh, and Head Constable Jagjit Singh. Their recognition reflects the state’s appreciation of the tireless service rendered by the men and women in uniform who work silently yet diligently to ensure peace, security, and discipline in society.
