Your land worth 1 crore acre will become property worth 4 crores” – CM Mann explained the benefits of the scheme to the farmers
Illegal colonies were the loot of Akali and Congress governments, we will give all the facilities to the people to live a respectable life: CM Mann
“No one’s land will be taken without consent” – Chief Minister’s strict and clear promise
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann interacted with people in detail during the ‘Aap Sarkar Tuhade Dwar’ program in Patiala. During this, he allayed the concerns and rumours related to the state’s land pooling policy and said that this scheme is for transparency, inclusiveness and convenience of the people. The Chief Minister assured the people that the government is not forcibly acquiring land, but will work with the consent of farmers and landowners for urban development projects.
Refuting the rumours being spread by opposition parties and propaganda against this transparent and pro-people scheme, CM Mann said, “Some people are spreading rumours that the government is planning to forcibly acquire your land. I have come here today to make it clear that we will not take anyone’s land without their consent.”
Mann highlighted the corruption committed during the previous governments and exposed the opaque manner in which land was acquired. He said, “Earlier leaders like Sukhbir Badal used to approve schemes, then share them with their favourites, the result of which was that some people bought land on a large scale and profited while farmers and common people remained at a loss. Now those days are gone. We are committed to transparent and fair governance.”
