CM Mann’s scathing attack – Akali Dal’s politics is based on lies, drugs and gangsters
“Akali Dal looted Punjab while the poor kept struggling” – CM
Sukhbir Badal is doing drama, Akali Dal has betrayed Punjabis on every front: Mann
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today launched a scathing attack on Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Majithia and accused him of hypocrisy and misleading the public with baseless statements. Addressing the media, Mann rejected Majithia’s recent claims and highlighted the dubious happenings of the Akali Dal during his tenure.
CM Mann criticised Bikram Majithia for politicising a recent death incident in Amritsar, in which a poor man lost his life while attempting to defuse a live bomb. “Majithia questions law and order, but who is he to speak? During his regime an SHO was shot dead while trying to protect the honour of his daughter, and slogans of ‘Majithia Zindabad’ were raised. Has he forgotten that?” Mann said.
Mann reminded people of the Nabha jailbreak incident during the Akali rule and questioned the accountability of leaders like Majithia. He emphasised how Akali leaders sheltered drug mafias and gangsters, leading to a flood of drugs and crime in Punjab. “Whenever drug smugglers or mafias were caught, their links were inevitably linked to Akali leaders,” Mann said.
Mann said Majithia represented a legacy where the poor were jailed for standing up while the powerful looted Punjab without consequences. “The Akali Dal created an empire of corruption that allowed goons and smugglers to flourish. Now they are trying to become Punjab’s saviours. But people will no longer believe their lies,” he said.
CM Mann pointed out a big difference between the AAP and Akali Dal’s model of governance. He said, “Unlike Majithia who only thinks about his personal gain, my government makes policies that give priority to the common people of Punjab. We never sign any policy that harms Punjab or its people.”
Mann also cornered Majithia for raising questions on law and order and said, “Under the leadership of Badal and Majithia, the Akali Dal became a symbol of anarchy and crime. They are responsible for pushing Punjab into a quagmire of drugs and crime.” CM Mann compared his personal wealth with the prosperity of Akali leaders and challenged Majithia that in every election I have declared my assets. My assets have continuously decreased because I serve Punjab, not myself. Can Majithia also say the same?”
Mann also issued a stern warning to corrupt leaders and said, “Those who exploit the poor and loot Punjab will have to face the law. No one can save you from the consequences of your misdeeds. Remember, the prayers of the poor and the honest always reach God and His curses are invincible.”
Mann urged the people of Punjab to reject the false rumours of the Akali Dal and support honest governance. He said that the Akali Dal is a relic of a corrupt past. They worked to ruin Punjab. But now the time has come to move forward with transparency and development.
