Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced a landmark initiative to provide 100-square-yard residential plots to one lakh landless families belonging to the Antyodaya category in the first phase of a state-wide rehabilitation program. These families will not only be allotted land but will also receive legal ownership documents. Speaking during his thanksgiving tour in the villages of Beed Kalwa, Dhanani, Deeg, and Dhangali in the Ladwa Assembly constituency of Kurukshetra district, the Chief Minister underlined the government’s commitment to inclusive development.
The Chief Minister further revealed that the plot distribution scheme will be expanded in the next phase to include another one lakh eligible families. He also highlighted that starting from August 15, government hospitals in ten districts—upgraded with modern equipment and services comparable to private healthcare facilities—will begin treating all types of ailments. This will ensure access to affordable and quality healthcare for citizens across the state.
During his visits to various villages, CM Saini was greeted with enthusiastic public receptions. He listened to the grievances of residents and instructed officials on the spot to take immediate action. In Dhangali, he announced ₹55.41 lakh for a clean drinking water pipeline, while Beed Kalwa and Dhanani villages were sanctioned ₹52.64 lakh and ₹27.15 lakh respectively for development works. At Deeg, he laid the foundation stone for a new Primary Health Centre worth ₹6.38 crore. Additionally, each of the four villages visited received ₹21 lakh in grants for ongoing development works. The Chief Minister also assured that demands raised by village heads would be forwarded to the concerned departments for prompt resolution.
Recognizing Kurukshetra’s prominence in sunflower cultivation, CM Saini declared the establishment of a sunflower oil mill in Shahabad and added that a mustard oil mill has been approved for Rewari district. These agro-industrial projects are intended to ensure fair prices for farmers and promote value-added agricultural practices. He reiterated that Haryana is the only state in India currently purchasing all farm produce at Minimum Support Price (MSP), and under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana, farmers are also compensated in case of low market prices for vegetables and other crops.
Highlighting welfare measures, Saini stated that families earning less than ₹1.80 lakh annually are eligible to receive cooking gas cylinders at just ₹500. As many as 18 lakh households are already availing this benefit. Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, ₹5 lakh health coverage is being provided, which is extended up to ₹10 lakh for senior citizens above 70 years. The state government has released ₹6 crore to strengthen this initiative, and dialysis services for kidney patients are now being offered free of charge in government hospitals.
Addressing long-standing legal issues, the Chief Minister announced a special policy for rural families residing for over 20 years on panchayat land. Such families will now be allowed to register up to 500 square yards of occupied land in their name, bringing relief from legal uncertainties.
