Governor Assures Punjab of More Central Aid for Flood Relief

Amidst the political sparring over the central government’s flood relief package, Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria has stepped in to provide reassurance to the state. The Governor stated that the ₹1,600 crore announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is merely a “token amount” for immediate relief and that more financial assistance is forthcoming once the full extent of the damages is assessed.
