In a landmark operation that reflects the Punjab government’s firm commitment to justice and national security, Punjab Police has successfully extradited Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist Parminder Singh alias Pindi from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), to India with the crucial support of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), and UAE authorities. Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav confirmed on Saturday that the extradition was carried out by a dedicated team of Batala Police officials, who travelled to the UAE on September 24, 2025, to complete all legal formalities and bring the accused back to face justice. A resident of Harsha in Batala, Pindi is not just a local criminal but a high-profile operative of a terror-criminal syndicate and a close aide of internationally designated terrorists Harwinder Singh alias Rinda and Happy Passia. He has been linked to heinous crimes including petrol bomb attacks, violent assaults, and extortions across the Batala-Gurdaspur region, while also exploiting social media platforms to coordinate terror activities and finance operations. Acting on a Red Corner Notice issued at the request of Batala Police and facilitated by the CBI through INTERPOL, the accused was tracked in Abu Dhabi and eventually brought back to India, marking a significant success in cross-border counter-terror cooperation. DGP Gaurav Yadav stressed that the operation demonstrates Punjab Police’s zero-tolerance approach to terrorism and organised crime, as well as its capacity to act with global reach. He extended gratitude to the MEA, the UAE government, CBI, and other central agencies for their support in this mission that strengthens national security. Batala Senior Superintendent of Police Suhail Qasim Mir added that the arrest and extradition of Pindi has dismantled a crucial node in a transnational terror network directly linked to Pakistan-based handlers. The successful operation has sent an unequivocal message that the long arm of law has no boundaries and those indulging in terror activities will inevitably be brought to justice.
