Sri Muktsar Sahib: In a move to ensure that eligible citizens are included in the electoral rolls ahead of upcoming electoral activities, special camps will be organised at polling stations across Sri Muktsar Sahib district on Sunday, October 25, under the ongoing Special Summary Revision (SSR)-2026 campaign.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Amit Kumar Panchal said the camps would operate from **10 a.m. to 4 p.m.**, with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) available at their respective polling stations to assist voters with registration and other electoral roll-related requirements.
The initiative, being conducted under the directions of the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, aims to provide eligible citizens with an accessible opportunity to verify their inclusion in the electoral rolls and submit applications wherever necessary.
According to the District Election Officer, individuals who qualify to be registered as voters but have been left out of the draft electoral roll can approach the designated BLOs during the special camps. Applicants may submit Form 6, Form 6A, Form 7 or Form 8, as applicable to their particular requirement, along with the prescribed supporting documents.
Panchal appealed to all eligible voters in the district to visit their respective polling stations on October 25 and make use of the facility. He also urged representatives of political parties to cooperate with the election authorities and help ensure that eligible voters are not left out of the electoral process.
The special camps form part of the broader exercise to update and improve the accuracy of electoral rolls. Voter registration, correction of entries and other changes made through the prescribed procedures are important steps in ensuring that electoral records remain current and that eligible citizens can exercise their democratic rights.
